Aside from cavities, gum disease is the main oral health problem for adults and the elderly. It is an inflammation of the gums, caused mainly by the accumulation of dental plaque and tartar. Gum disease can affect the bone level that holds teeth in place eventually leading to tooth loss.
We deeply care about all our patients and strive to help them establish and maintain a solid foundation for healthy gums.
Our team of highly qualified dentists and hygienists are trained to detect gum disease at its earliest stage. Each of our patients has a personalized hygiene plan to address their special needs and help them avoid future problems thanks to a program of daily care.
Your third molars are more commonly called “wisdom teeth.” Usually appearing in the late teens or early twenties, third molars often lack the proper space in the jaw to erupt fully or even at all. This common condition is called impaction. When any tooth lacks the space to come through or simply develops in the wrong place of your jaw and becomes impacted, problems can arise. Primarily, damage to adjacent teeth and crowding can occur.
To potentially stave off this result, an extraction of one, several or all of the wisdom teeth may be advised. If that is the case, we have the equipment and training needed to perform such extractions with an absolute minimum of discomfort.
Ask our staff for more information regarding tooth extractions if you feel you may need one.

At Mag-Dent Dental Center, our aim is primarily to help you keep your natural teeth all your life. However, a damaged tooth may develop a cavity.
A cavity is the result of superficial decay of the tooth enamel. Left long enough, this decay can burrow into the deeper reaches of the tooth, causing extensive damage to its structure. When the damage goes beyond what can be treated with a filling, the dentist can perform a root canal (or endodontic treatment) thus preserving the tooth and retaining its original integrity.
A tooth that has had a root canal treatment can have dental caries just as any other tooth. That is why it is very important to maintain good oral hygiene in order to keep this tooth for a long time. It is also recommended to strengthen a devitalized tooth by placing a crown on it.
